Privacy Policy

What we collect, what we don't, and how the third-party services we use behave.

Last updated: May 2026

Plain-English summary

We don't require an account, we don't sell your data, and we don't track you across the web. The only personal information that reaches us is what Google AdSense and Google Analytics 4 collect on our behalf so that we can show ads and understand which tools are useful. You can opt out of personalised advertising and analytics using the controls described below, and the site will continue to work normally.

Who we are

“Boarding Time”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to the operator of the website at boardingtime.co. For all data-protection enquiries, please email privacy@boardingtime.co.

What we collect directly

Boarding Time itself does not require you to create an account, and we do not run our own user database. The data we collect directly is limited to:

  • Theme preference — whether you've chosen light or dark mode is stored in your browser's localStorage. It never leaves your device.
  • Packing-list state — checkboxes ticked in the packing tool are stored in your browser's localStorage. They never leave your device.
  • Anonymous request logs — like every website, our hosting platform (Vercel) records standard server logs including IP address, user agent and requested URL. These logs are used for security, abuse prevention and operational diagnostics, and are retained for a short period by Vercel.

We do not ask for your name, email address, payment details or any other personal information to use the site.

Third-party services

Google AdSense

We use Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google and its partners may use cookies, web beacons and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site or other sites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to show ads based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.

You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings. You can also opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalised advertising by visiting aboutads.info. For more information about how Google uses data, see policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Google Analytics 4

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand which pages, tools and guides are used most, how visitors arrive on the site, and where to focus future improvements. GA4 collects aggregated usage information (pages viewed, country, device type) using cookies and similar technologies. IP addresses are anonymised by default in GA4. You can opt out of Google Analytics across all sites by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Open-Meteo, exchange-rate and other API providers

The weather tool calls Open-Meteo's public API to retrieve forecast data. The currency tool calls an exchange-rate API to retrieve mid-market rates. These services receive the request (typically the city, country or currency you searched for) but do not receive any personally identifying information about you from Boarding Time.

Vercel hosting

The site is hosted on Vercel. Vercel processes server logs and edge-network data necessary to serve the site. See Vercel's privacy policy.

Cookies

Boarding Time itself sets no first-party cookies. The third-party services described above (Google AdSense and Google Analytics) may set cookies in your browser. You can disable cookies in your browser's settings at any time. If you do, the site will continue to function — only personalised ads and aggregated analytics will be affected.

Your rights (GDPR / UK GDPR)

If you are in the UK, the European Economic Area, Switzerland or another jurisdiction that grants you data-protection rights, you have the right to:

  • Request a copy of any personal data we hold about you.
  • Request that we correct or delete data we hold about you.
  • Object to the processing of your data or restrict it.
  • Withdraw consent for cookie-based processing at any time.
  • Lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office).

Because we don't require an account, in practice the data we hold about any individual visitor is minimal. To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@boardingtime.co from the email account you wish to enquire about.

Children's privacy

Boarding Time is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in some jurisdictions). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please email us and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes to our practices or third-party services we use. Material changes will be flagged on the homepage. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page always reflects the most recent revision.
